Why Twitter?

The purpose is to present matters of public interest to Mountain View County residents, businesses, visitors and other interested parties. Our aim is to use emerging communication channels to highlight County news and upcoming events:

  • Twitter and other social media supplement the information we publish on our website and through other channels such as the local media.
  • We can remind you of important events and alert you to late-breaking news.
  • We can provide links to interesting and helpful information about Mountain View County published by other people.
  • We can better communicate with those using mobile devices.

Mountain View County's use of Twitter and other social media will be influenced by your participation and response to it.

Will Mountain View Countyrespond to my posts or messages?

Mountain View County Communications will monitor all social media in which Mountain View County participates during business hours (8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including statutory holidays).

Direct messages and posts are not considered official correspondence. Official correspondence means communications written, faxed or emailed to Mountain View County that includes your proper name and address. You should contact Mountain View County by email or in writing if you have:

  • A formal customer service request, comment or enquiry.
  • A response to an item published for public comment.

Mountain View County reserves the right to delete submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group. Further, the County reserves the right to delete comments which:

  • Contain spam, advertising or include links to other sites
  • Clearly off topic, and/or disruptive
  • Advocate illegal activity
  • Promote particular services, products or political organizations
  • Infringe on copyrights or trademarks
  • Violates any of Mountain View County's policies or procedures
