Summary Report

Detailed Workplan

Council has released the Summary Report from the January/February Municipal Development Plan (MDP) Round Table Sessions. The Round Tables Sessions were a great success and provided the input needed for Council to formulate their plan for the MDP review and the timelines to move the project into Phase 2 - Growing Your Plan.

Council has decided to focus their attention on the Country Residential and Agricultural policies of the MDP at this time. As a secondary review they will also be asking the community questions on the Growth Centres and Recreational policies.

Next Steps:

Phase 2 - Growing Your Plan - March - June 2011:
During the months of March and April, Councillors conducted Open Houses at which there were development options and scenarios for MDP policies for residents to review and provide feedback on.

Also during the month of April, a survey based on the same information was distributed to the landowners/residents of the County. The deadline for the survey to be done was April 30, 2011.

We thank all of those who took the time to fill out the survey and return it to the County. These surveys along with the information received at the Councillor Open Houses was compiled and a Summary Report prepared by McElhanney Consultants. This Summary Report was reviewed by Council on May 24, 2011.

The results of this information will be utilized to prepare a statistically valid telephone survey which will be randomly conducted to further refine the options for the MDP policies. This will take place in June.

Phone Survey Results

The phone survey, conducted from June 10-17 by NRG Research Group featured interviews with Mountain View County landowners. The information from that survey was compiled in a report titled Determining Key Principles Regarding Land Use Changes.
